Delaney Lowery FOWLER, of Tunnel Hill died Sunday afternoon [May 5. 1991] in an area hospital. She was 81. Survivors include her husband, Clarence FOWLER, Sr.; five[sic] sons, Steve, William and Marion FOWLER, all of Dalton, Ga., Clyde FOWLER, Virginia; three daughters, Lavada "Lou" BAGLEY and Lucille NORRIS, both of Chatsworth, Ga., and Patricia HARRIS, Cohutta, Ga.; two sisters, Grace WOOTEN, Dalton, and Harriett ROE, Chatsworth; two brothers, Tommy LOWERY, Chatsworth, and Malcolm LOWERY, Dalton; 43 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Freehope Baptist Church with the Rev. William SILVERS and the Rev. James FORREST officiating. Burial was in Freehope Cemetery. Peeples Funeral Home, Chatsworth, were in charge of arrangements.

Roscoe {R. D.} Fowler, 88 of Dalton, GA, a native of Vonore, TN, passed away 9:35 A.M. Friday, December 31, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a life-long member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Vonore, TN. He was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. He leaves all to cherish his memory. His life was filled with family, friends and music. He was a hard worker who loved to work his farm and was actively involved with the senior citizens in Dalton, GA. He was very appreciative of his loving caregivers throughout his lengthy illness and also of the prayers and kindness shown by his community. Preceded in death by daughter Joyce Kathaleen Hill; parents Authur L. and Bertha Ann Fowler, father-in-law Sam Bryant. Survivors: Wife of 61 years, Pauline Fowler; Daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Taylor Stakely of Newnan, GA, Brenda and Joe Adams of Cleveland, Mildred and Ricky Smith of Dalton, GA, Anita and Brad Yother of Villanow, GA, Sandra Fales of Chattanooga; Sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Martha Fowler of Maryville, Jim and Lovonda Fowler of Vonore, Gary and Sharon Fowler, Larry and Jacque Fowler, all of Dalton, GA, Allen, David & Doug Fowler and precious son Danny Fowler, all of Dalton, GA; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Sally Bryant of Vonore. Funeral 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. David Richardson, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Interment 1:00 P.M. Monday in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Vonore. Family will receive friends 6-8 P.M. Sunday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.

James Edward FRANKLIN, 77, died August 26, 2000, in Whitfield County, Rocky Face, GA. Survivors include wife Frances Allen Franklin; sister, Ivy Martin; sister-in-law, Joyce Franklin; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held August 28, 2000 in the chapel of Love Funeral Home with the Rev. J. B. Kirby officiating. Interment was in Lindsey Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. Love Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Nora Lou Henderson FREEMAN, 74, of Rocky Face, departed this life Friday, July 28, 2006 at her residence. Mrs. Freeman was born May 1, 1932 in Whitfield County, daughter of the late Robert Lee and Gussie Crider Henderson. Her husband, Thurman Alfred Freeman Sr.; son, Kenneth Alvin Freeman; daughter, Gussie Lou Freeman; brothers, George Henderson, John Henderson, Otis Henderson; sisters, Pauline Brewer and Pearl Brewer also preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Thurman Alfred Freeman Jr. and Wanda Freeman of Sugar Valley, Jonathan and Melissa Freeman of Rocky Face, Roland Keith and Karen Freeman of Tunnel Hill, Thomas Smith of Chatsworth; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Leonard Stanley, Dottie and Bobby Casson and Geraldine and Donnie Trammell, all of Villanow; and Shelia and Chris Brown of Dalton; sisters, Annie Mae Brumbelow and Millie Boyd, both of Dalton, Ethel Williamson of Villanow and Minnie Ruth (Sugar) Quarles of LaFayette; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services are Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Rhodes and the Rev. Mike Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the Dunagan Baptist Church Cemetery. Ralph Harold Futrell, 76, of Whitfield County, Dalton, GA died May 13, 2001. He was the son of Kenneth and Thelma Carter Futrell and was preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Futrell, all from Boynton Beach, FL and his son-in-law, Waymon A. Cochran. Ralph was a truck driver for Alladin Mills and retired after 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Jean Avanell Wilbanks Futrell; daughter, Sherry Cochran; grandchildren, Chad and Kim Cochran. Memorial services were held May 14, 2001 in the Chapel of the Love Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Dean Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Love Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
