Joseph L. RANDOLPH, 79, died December 10, 1940 in the Dawnville Community of Whitfield County. He is survived by his wife, Mable Hair Randolph; daughter, Mrs. J. C. Crow of near Dalton; son, G. B. Randolph of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Dawnville Methodist Church on December 12, 1940. Interment was in Dawnville Cemetery with Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Nancy Eugenia RICHARDSON, 75, died November 9, 1940 in Dalton. She is survived by sister, Ella Richardson; brother, R. J. L. Richardson; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services were November 10, 1940. Interment was in Richardson Family Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Jackie Walter RIDLEY, eight month old infant of Mr. & Mrs. Walter Ridley, died in the Pine Grove Community on November 23, 1940. Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Wood of Pleasant Grove Community and Mr. Mack Ridley of near Pine Grove. Funeral services were held at the Pine Grove Baptist Church on November 24, 1940. Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Carl Emerald RITTENHOUSE, 86, of Dalton, GA departed this life December 19, 2002. Mr. Rittenhouse was born January 27, 1916, in Gilmer County, GA, son of the late Horace and Laura Young Rittenhouse. He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed Rittenhouse and Clark Rittenhouse; sisters, Ruth Caldwell, Mamie McGill; brothers-in-law, Callaway Adams and Paul Patterson and a grandson-in-law, Scott Millsap. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters-in-law; daughters and sons-in-law; brother and sister-in-law; sisters; sisters-in-law; brother-in-law; grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; cousins; nieces; nephews; brothers and sisters in Christ; many friends and a lifelong special friend, Joe Stillwell of Ellijay. Services were December 22, 2002 from the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. Burial was in United Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Ponders Melrose Chapel, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton, GA.

Franklin RITTENHOUSE, 64, of Dalton, GA, died August 29, 2003. He was born July 16, 1939, in Murray County, GA. Mr. Rittenhouse was preceded in death by his daughter, Sonia Lambert; father, Noah Edward Rittenhouse. Survivors include his wife; children; mother; brothers; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services were held September 1, 2003 in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home. Burial followed in West Hill Cemetery. Shawn Chapman Funeral Home and Crematory, 2362 U.S. Highway 76, Chatsworth, GA was in charge of the arrangements.

Leonard R. RITTENHOUSE, 73, of Dalton, GA, died April 4, 2004. He was preceded in death by his wife, Desmia Pack Rittenhouse; brother, Homer Rittenhouse; and daughter, Diane White. He is survived by his children and spouses; brothers; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services were held April 6, 2004 from the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
