Albert Lee HALL, 92, died on May 12, 1971 in Whitfield County, Dalton, GA. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mamie Hall; son, William "Jack" Hall; daughters, Mrs. C. P. {Dimple} Adams and Mrs. Ervin {Darcia} Black; half-sisters, Mrs. Tony Davis and Mrs. Maggie Davis; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Center Point Baptist Church May 13, 1971, with the Rev. John Bledsoe officiating. Interment was in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

P. {Dimple} Adams and Mrs. Ervin {Darcia} Black; one son William "Jack" Hall; foster sister, Mrs. Jesse Green; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held May 31, 1973 at the Chapel of Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Les Connell officiating. Burial was in Whitfield Memorial Gardens with Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ike and Julie Hall; brother, Knight Hall; sister, Ollie Causby; and great-niece, Patti Payne Cunningham. Survivors include sister, Jessie Hall; brothers, Hughdon and Willard Hall; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were March 12, 1999 at the chapel of Love Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Jackson and the Rev. Brad Bailey officiating. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Sammy Lee HAMMONTREE, 55, of Dalton, Georgia passed away on Tuesday evening, March 20, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Hammontree and Violene Cochran; two sisters, Martha Sue Nations and Michelle Cochran; a brother, Robert Hammontree; a nephew, Jeffrey Nations. Sam is survived by his wife; sons and daughters-in law; a sister; brothers and sisters-in-law; grandchildren; a special nephew; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; many close friends. Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Sam Hammontree were held on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church. Entombment followed the funeral service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia. Dalton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. .

J. B. HARRELL, 72, passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Hamilton Medical Center. Mr. Harrell was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Edna Harrell; one brother, Grady Harrell; three sisters, Edna Thompson, Georgia Manning and Bessie "Sissy" Wright; one son, Scott Harrell; one great-grandson, Christian Ryan Jenkins. Survivors include his wife; three daughters and sons-in-law; one son; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and a special nephew. The funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Harrell will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Burial will be in United Memorial Gardens. Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Pleasant Grove Chapel, Dalton is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Tracy Scott HARRELL, born June 22, 1973 and died Oct. 21, 2006 died as the result of an automobile accident. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. Morrison Sr. and Edna and Johnny Harrell. Survivors include his sons Zachary Harrell of Dalton, Georgia, Matthew Harrell of Chatsworth, Georgia, and Griffin Harrell of Cleveland, Tennessee. Parents, J. B. and Stella Harrell of Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Danny Parish of Cohutta, Georgia, Sandra and David Lankford of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, Vickie and David Jenkins of Dawnville, Georgia, and a brother Jerome Harrell of Dalton, Georgia, a grandmother Rosie Morrison of Crow Valley Road of Dalton, Georgia; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The funeral services was held October 24, 2006 in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Interment was in the United Memorial Gardens. Florence Roberts HARRIS, 68, died Saturday morning at 8:30 in Hamilton Memorial Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Miss Johnnie Harris, Mrs. Virginia Cochran, and Mrs. Martha Craig all of Dalton, two sons, Carl Harris of Tunnel Hill and Ralph Harris of Rocky Face; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Brown of Texas and Mrs. Eunice McGinnis of Cartersville,16 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were scheduled this afternoon at two o’clock from Faith Tabernacle with the Rev. G. A. Hamby and the Rev. Chapel Carver officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery (Ringgold, Georgia) with Love Funeral Home in charge.

Mary Martha Elizabeth Hayes HARRIS, 77, passed away in the local hospital in Dalton Wednesday night. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Caldwell of Rome, Mrs. Darthula Burkhalter of Lindale, and Mrs. Ruby Johnson of Dalton; two sons, Roy U. Harris (correction – Roy Vance) and Jesse M.(Mannon) Harris both of Dalton, 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church in Ringgold Friday afternoon with Elder A. J. Sims and Elder T. J. Hatch officiating. Burial was in the Anderson cemetery (Ringgold, Georgia) with Kenemer Bros. Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.

MRS. MATTIE HARRIS DIES IN HOSPITAL; FUNERAL IS FRIDAY ...... Dalton - Mrs. Mattie Harris, native of Floyd County died at 8:40 pm Wednesday in a Dalton hospital She was born Oct. 20, 1879 in Floyd County, and married J. O. Harris Dec. 27, 1903. He died Jan. 29, 1955. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Caldwell, Rome, Mrs. Darthula Burkhalter, Lindale, and Mrs. Ruby Johnson, Dalton; two sons, Roy V Harris and Jesse M Harris, both of Dalton. Eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held at Ringgold First Baptist Church, Ringgold, at 2:30 pm Friday. Elder A J Sims and Elder T J Hatch will officiate. Interment will be in Anderson Cemetery. Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home, Dalton, has charge of arrangements.

Oother L. HARRIS, 22, of 1309 Lida St., died suddenly in Hamilton Memorial Hospital Wednesday morning at 10:30. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Harris of Dalton; one sister, Miss Netha Harris of Ellijay; two brothers, Ronnie and Jeffery both of Dalton; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Caldwell of Rome, Georgia; a number of aunts and uncles also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Elder O. C. Crabtree officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Cemetery in Ringgold with Love Funeral Home in charge. The body will remain at the funeral home and will be ready for viewing after 2 o'clock today.

Roy Vance HARRIS, 65, died Thursday morning at 9:45 in the Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Harris of Dalton; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hill, Mrs. Virginia Cochran, and Miss Johnnie Harris all of Dalton ; two sons, Carl Harris of Calhoun, and Ralph Harris of Rocky Face; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruby) Johnson and Mrs. Darthula Burkhalter both of Dalton; one brother, Mr. Jesse Harris of Dalton. Eleven grandchildren, nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock at the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Rev. O.C. Crabtree and Rev. T.O. Cowart officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery in Ringgold with Love Funeral Home in charge. The body will remain at the funeral home in parlor A and is ready for viewing.

Clarence HATFIELD, 72, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, died Monday in a Dalton, Georgia, hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mary Joyce Hatfield; three sons, W. C. Hatfield, Marietta, GA, Doug and Sam Raymond Hatfield, Tunnel Hill, GA; two daughters, Brenda Brooks, Joy Bryson, Tunnel Hill; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Mount Vernon Baptist Church with Rev. Al Clark and the Rev. Hugh Burdett officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements by Jones Funeral Home, Tunnel Hill.

Jasper F. HAYES, ...... Mill Creek ............ The health of our community is not so good at this writing. Mr. J. F. Hayes died at his home Saturday night. Mr. Hayes was seemingly as well as common until about an hour before his death. He was taken so suddenly no one knew for certain what caused his death. His age was about 75. The body was buried at Ringgold cemetery Sunday. The bereaved family have our sympathy.
(Jasper Hayes was the son of Allen and Martha Hayes of Bartow Co GA. He was born April 10, 1841 and died on May 21, 1910. He married Nancy Caroline Baker on July 23, 1865.)

Dolly Carolyn Hayes HENDERSON, 72, of Rocky Face, Georgia, died Monday, January 21, 2002, in Dalton, Georgia. Dolly attended Westside School, and was a member of the Rocky Face Baptist Church. Dolly was preceded in death by her husband, Tom E. Henderson; parents, Dallas D. and Lucy M. Hayes. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law; two sons and daughters-in-law; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 23, 2002 at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home. Burial was in the Dunagan Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday. Julian Peeples Funeral Home, Westside Chapel, Rocky Face, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.

Holder and daughter, Mrs. Evia Mulkey, all of Dalton; four brothers and one sister, Annie Carter. Funeral services were held at the Church of God on Glenwood Avenue on December 13, 1940. Miles HOLDER, 84, of Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia, died April 22, 2004. He was born Sept. 18, 1919, in Whitfield County, GA, son of the late John Wesley and Mary Crider Holder. His sister, Eva Holloway; and brothers, J. B. and Sam Holder also preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, son, daughter, stepsons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and special friends. Funeral services were April 24, 2004 at the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. Interment was in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Charles E. HULL, Jr. 23, died April 29, 1899 in Whitfield County, Georgia. He was born March 11, 1876, the son of Georgia Ottilie Miller and Charles E. Hull Sr. He is buried next to his mother in West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, GA.
