Edith Christine Sexton UNDERWOOD, 72, of Dalton, Georgia, died September 1, 2000. Mrs. Underwood was born June 28, 1928, in Cedar Bluff, Alabama, daughter of the late Albert and Ruby Bishop Sexton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Perry Underwood; brothers, Robert Sexton and John Sexton; sisters, Minnie Bell Sexton and Mary Nell Sexton. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby Lance, Lavonne Whittington, Linda and Claude Bishop, Lucille Parker, Glenda and Rocky Silvers; brothers, James Sexton, Raymond Sexton, Albert Sexton; sisters, Bonnie Sue Crane, Frances Spears, Louise Sexton; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronald Guffey officiating. Burial was in Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalton, Georgia. Ponders Funeral Home of Dalton, Georgia was in charge of the arrangements.
