Frances Chastain GARNER, 63, of Murray County, Tennga, GA, died April 25, 2002. Mrs. Garner was born April 1, 1939, in Floyd County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Byrd and Frony Serritt Chastain. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lamar Garner; son, Charles Garner; brothers, C. W. and Joe Chastain. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law; daughter and son-in-law; grandchildren; great-grandchild. Services were April 28, 2002 from the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Ellis Chastain officiating. Burial was in the Dunagan Cemetery in Whitfield County. Arrangements are by Ponders Funeral Home of Dalton, GA. Cora Hall GREEN, 88, of Whitfield County, Dalton, GA, died August 26, 2000. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Carrie Loughridge Hall; husband, Jesse E. Green. Survivors include sisters, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held August 29, 2000 at Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. Dewey Fleming officiating. Interment was in West Hill Cemetery. Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. John David GREEN, 31, of Whitfield County, Dalton, GA. died August 20, 2001. Services were August 23, 2001 at Ponders Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County, Dalton, GA. Hazel Marie Barksdale GROVES, 79, died November 12, 1998, in Laurens County, Dublin, GA. She was born in Murray County, GA, daughter of the late Virgil Eugene and Beulah Farmer Barksdale. Survivors include daughters; son; sisters; granddaughters; great-granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home in Whitfield County, Dalton, GA on November 15, 1998 with the Rev. Joe Buffington officiating. Interment was in the Dawnville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County. Love Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
