Betty Louise Marosek Jernigan CALDER, 62, of Dalton,GA (born in Chicago, IL July 17, 1929) died Feburary 15, 1992. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert (Bob) Calder. She is survived by a son, Joseph M. Jernigan and a daughter, Rebecca Overton. Five granddaughters, Five step grandchildren, one adopted grandchild, eight great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren (and one on the way) Mrs. Calder is also survived by her two loving sisters, Mrs. Mary Fair and Mrs. Patsy Edwards and one niece. Services were officated by the Rev. Clayton Brown in the chapel of Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home. Interment was in Dawnville Cemetery following the chapel services. She is now resting with Bob "Beyond the sunset." She is dearly missed.

James T. CALLAHAN, died March 27, 1917 at his home on South Spencer St. following a protracted illness. He was a brother of bailiff William B. Callahan, and had hosts of friends here who were grieved to learn of his death. He is survived by his wife, Lula Wilson Callahan, and 6 children: Grace, Joseph, Addie, Claude, August and Regan. Interment was in the Tilton Cemetery.

Alice J. Dunn CALLAWAY, 77, died in Chattanooga, TN on November 4, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Willis Callaway. She is survived by sons, Harry, William, Waymond and John Callaway of Ringgold; daughters, Mrs. Nellie Stephens of Rome and Miss Gussie Callaway of Ringgold; sister, Mrs. J. C. Strickland of Coleman, TX. Funeral services were held November 5, 1940 at Dogwood Valley Baptist Church. Interment was in the Dogwood Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Kenemer Brothers Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his daughter, Helen Brewer of Edgewater, FL; sons, John T. and Clyde Edward Carroll of Dalton; sisters, Alice McCalley of Varnell, Louise Mullins and Shirley Goodson of Dalton; brothers, Charles and Leon Carroll of Dalton; grandchildren; a great-grandchild, nieces and nephews. Roy Frank CARROLL, 83, of Dalton, GA. died March 18, 2002. Mr. Carroll was born July 25, 1918 in Gilmer County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Fuller and Avonline Dyer Carroll; daughter, Irene Lofty; son, Luther T. Carroll and stepdaughter, Gladys Holland. Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife, son & daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandchildren, stepdaughter, stepson, brother, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 20, 2002 from the chapel of Ponders Funeral Home. Burial followed in Nebo Cemetery in Gilmer County.

Martha M. Land CLARK, 81, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Clark, early Tuesday morning. She is survived by two brothers, Jim and Tom Clark [submitter's note: should say Jim and Tom Land, not Clark], of Canton and one daughter. Funeral services will be held from the Tilton Baptist Church Thursday after noon at 3 o'clock with the Rev. E. S. Gregg officiating. Interment will be held in the Tilton Cemetery with Love Funeral Home in charge.

James Estel CRIDER, 53, of Resaca, departed this life Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at his home. Mr. Crider was born Nov. 12, 1952, in Whitfield County, a son of Susie Crider of Resaca and the late Ralph "Jack"’ Crider. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Paul Crider; brother-in-law, Harold Maddox; and a niece, Carrie Ann Maddox. In addition to his mother, Mr. Crider is survived by his sister; half-sister and brother-in-law; brothers and sisters-in-law; half-brother; special nephew; several other nieces and nephews also survive. Services are today at 5 p.m. from the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Blackstock officiating. Mr. Crider will be laid to rest at the Fairview Cemetery at Hall Memorial Baptist. The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday.
